In this pair of necklaces, carré diamonds and antique Indian polki diamonds—a traditional Mughal cut with few facets that follow the rough crystal’s natural lines—are set within airy rhombohedral nests. These nests are made from white-gold nature casts of daylily (Hemerocallis) flower stalks, whose blossoms last only one day. The yellow gold of the settings continues in the caps and beads—nature casts of beechnuts—engraved with floral motifs and filled with black vitreous enamel. The asymmetrical, irregular arrangement allows the necklaces to be worn in different ways, including joined into one long chain.
